Singer-songwriter Ursa Major, aka Ilyssa Levy, has quickly caught the attention of fans with her powerful storytelling and captivating animated YouTube videos. The North Carolina-raised/Southern California-based indie pop artist first gained popularity with her YouTube channel, illymation, which has amassed an impressive 2.2 million subscribers. Now focusing on her music, she unveils her stunning debut single and music video, ‘Sweaters.’

Ursa Major’s sincere, personal lyrics illustrate the struggle of being in an abusive relationship and letting go of something that is no longer good for you. ‘Sweaters’ is the first single from her debut EP anticipated this winter.

Ursa Major says of the track, The first draft of ‘Sweaters’ was one year after I had left the abusive relationship that began during my middle school summers and ended with police calls and cold court cases when I turned 18. I was petrified knowing my formative years had been tainted by grooming and manipulation. I didn’t know what a healthy relationship was, what it looked like, or how to find it, but I took comfort in knowing that I finally had the freedom to figure it out at my own pace.”
