The 7th International Busking Day is ready to take Wembley Park by storm this summer with over 120 artists performing across 10 stages around the exciting new neighbourhood.
Already home to the famous Wembley Stadium and The OVO Arena Wembley, International Busking Day is the area’s way of making its events more accessible, as the one-day celebration of musicians and street performers will not be ticketed; anyone can attend this for free.
Do not be mistaken, buskers are serious artists with bags of talent. The perception of buskers as nothing more than ‘desperate’ people on the streets has long been debunked, as we have seen plenty of successful artists emerge from a background in busking, including Ed Sheeran and Janis Joplin.
There will be something for everyone, with singer-songwriters, circus acts, dance troupes, and graffiti artists popping up all around Wembley Park on Saturday 16th July as part of this amazing event of artistic importance. Aspiring, grassroots musicians will be sharing stages with more established artists, who may well have inspired the less established artists to start performing in the first place. The lineup includes the talented country duo The Shires, and the mind-blowingly impressive electric string quartet Stringfever.
