LA-based singer-songwriter Tex Moonlight delivers a hardy mix of rootsy barroom folk and Beatle-esque electronic experimentation. Pedal steel leads stream over crackling breakbeats, merging into a wider sonic band which the songwriter has affectionately coined, “Americonica.” Now Tex returns with his new single ‘God Knows I Love It’. A heavenly indie-folk offering, ‘God Knows I Love It’ embodies the bohemian essence of artists such as Phosphorescent and Beck.
Tex Moonlight shares his thoughts on the track:
“God Knows I Love It,” is an ambling soul meditation, a bare-bones hymn to a love affair in bloom. A song nestled at the intersection of sensuality and spirituality.
The track, co-produced by Dave Nachodsky (Keb’ Mo, Donna Lewis, and Bonnie Raitt), showcases a free-form construction and boundless soundscape, evoking a sense of optimism.
Following on from his other 2022 singles, ‘Break My Heart’ and ‘Cracks’, this new song is yet another authentic addition to Tex’s discography and we’re expecting more music later this year too.
A mellow, Lebowski-esque mystique emanates from Tex Moonlight’s well-worn songs, which are pregnant with poignant moments that hit home on a universal level.
