Since releasing ‘Glass‘ and ‘Dry‘ earlier this year, Honolulu-born/LA-based indie-pop artist Rilo Wye has quickly gained attention for his dreamy, laid-back anthems. With his debut EP, ‘Better for Whatever Reason,’ he blends 70s-era studio production with thoughtful lyricism, taking listeners on a journey through the ebbs and flows of life.

Sharing more behind the EP’s themes, Wye says, “‘Better for Whatever Reason’ is about the unpredictable variable of mood and how it can affect things. We keep moving forward in life, with highs and lows and sometimes there is no clear explanation for why you’re in a funk or why you wake up one day and feel amazing. It was written at a time in my life when things were a bit mundane, which in turn leaves a lot of room for overthinking and questioning.”

‘Better for Whatever Reason’ is out now on Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, and all streaming platforms.
