“Didn’t spot the trouble/Now, hey, I’m fine on my own.” How many people have had that thought go through their heads after a relationship or during a moment of reflection? Well, Liverpool born and bred singer-songwriter Kris James certainly has. He has now put these feelings into his new single ‘Naïve’.

When discussing the track, Kris James explained “This is a song for all the survivors out there who end up having the last laugh” so it is hardly surprising that he counts The Beatles and Frank Sinatra as influences!

The production is electronic-pop with bright sampled horns but it frames the powerful lead vocal rather than overpowers it thus making it an exciting new pop number to entertain the public during no-festival season 2020.

What is really refreshing though is that he is not trying to sound like anyone (although I am reminded of fellow Liverpudlian Andy Brown who is the frontman of the band Lawson) and I am really interested to hear his other material.

Roll on his new record ‘The Highs and Lows of Love and Life’!
