Last Friday, the Australian duo President Street celebrated their success of single ‘Something to Believe’, which edged into the Music Week charts at number 30.
The single, which was praised by FM Magazine as “a declaration of independence and confidence and determination,” would no doubt have rang true for those of us looking for support and strength during the weirdness that is 2020. A display of strength and resilience in the face of adversity, the song was originally conceived as a reaction to a toxic relationship. Taking a deeply personal subject such as this one and making it universal requires bravery and lyrical know-how, something which vocalist Ruby clearly has in abundance.
