We recorded “Complicated Pony” and the rest of our upcoming new album at our lead guitarist Collin’s childhood home in Calabogie, Ontario. It was an ambitious 10-day blitz of coffee sweats, hasty rewrites, computer crashes, and little magic piled into a chilly December retreat. We felt it was important to work outside of the city, allowing us to put all of our energy into the creative process. It may have been at the expense of a couple day jobs, but the result is a record that is rich in tone, colourful collaboration, and completely captures our essence.
We’ll be touring Canada’s east coast this month to support the release of “Complicated Pony,” culminating in a video release show at Toronto’s Rivoli on the 29th. Hope to see your face in the crowd out there!
