I wrote this song in response to the Jacques Brel classic “Ne Me Quitte Pas.” I read in an interview that Brel didn’t consider it to be a love song, but instead an example of how far a man would go for love. “True Blue Moon” was written from the point of view of the woman who sees the romantic poet for what he is, a temporary lover, incapable of long lasting love.
It’s a tongue-in-cheek kind of tune that pokes fun at the hopelessness felt when we fall head over heels, and the impossibility of maintaining that romantic fairytale over time.
Thanks for taking the time to check out “True Blue Moon.”
I’m so looking forward to sharing more of these songs with you.
