Having just released his brilliant new single ‘Country Boy Big Time’ we decided to check in with Teddy La Master and chat all about his new release.

Hey, thank you for joining us today. Could you please tell any of our readers that haven’t heard about you yet what you’re all about?

Great to be here! Absolutely, I’m all about making music that connects to my fans and putting on the best live shows I can.

Congrats on your new release. How are you feeling about this right now?

Thanks! I’m feeling really great about it. I think it’s the best song that I’ve put out so far and I’m getting a great response from my followers.

Could you talk to us about the process you have made as an artist to get to this point?

Absolutely, when I started out a few years ago I was writing and playing solo and still kind of finding my sound. Now I’ve got a great group of guys in my band that I write, play, and record with. I’m really proud of the live shows and the music we’ve put out, and I’m really excited to be where I am, but I still feel like I’m just getting started.

We’re loving the single artwork. Could you please explain the meaning behind this?

Haha, glad you like it! It was shot by my good friend Matt Hayes. He’s a really killer photographer and musician and has done most of my cover art shots. It’s my band and I’s rendering of a “Country Boy Big Time.” We’re out in a field tearing it up with a 4 wheel drive, my guitar player Garrett is drinking a Busch Light as usual, my drummer Anthony is looking bad ass in a cowboy hat, and we’re just enjoying being outside. This song is really about finding a field somewhere, anywhere, and having a great time with your friends.

If you had to describe your sound in 3 words which, would you pick?

Country, Rockin’, Energetic

Was the process in creating this single different to the other music you have released?

Oh yeah. I wrote my other songs myself and tracked with studio musicians down in Nashville. This is the first song that I co-wrote and tracked with my bandmates, Garrett Hale (Lead Guitar) and Anthony Campbell (Drums). We tracked it at Saxman Studios with my producer Grady Saxman (Trey Lewis – “Dicked Down In Dallas”, Luke Combs – “When It Rains It Pours”) who I worked with on a few of my other songs including “This Song.”

Has listening to any other artist throughout your youth inspired this record?

For sure. I’m a country artist, but I listen to a little bit of everything so that ultimately bleeds into my writing style. So in addition to country I listened to a lot of rock, punk, and 90s alternative growing up. My lead guitar player Garrett Hale’s also heavily influenced by Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughaun, and Rage Against The Machine. Lately we’ve been
