Montreal prog-rock duo Tunnel have spent the last two years working steadily on new songs, culminating in their first full-length album, entitled Out For A While, set for release April 10th.
Their new single, “Walking The Vine,” is slightly optimistic, yet it also captures the darkness that comes with personal struggles. It’s a song about dealing with people that come and go in your life, and how that can unconsciously drain you.
“Walking The Vine” is about the juxtaposition of a heavy relationship with the hope and learning that such an experience can teach you. Through realizing that a relationship has its limits, you are able to move forward with those boundaries in mind.
Tunnel‘s debut record, Out For A While, is a solid documentation of the growth and expansion of the duo’s music into more song-form compositions, without losing sight of an experimental approach.
