Gary Dranow and the Manic Emotions are the Park City, Utah-based rock band who ride out life’s highs and lows. The band is unrestricted by the bounds of genre, making music for the square pegs of the world. The Manic Emotions are Sherm Tate on bass and vocals, Marty Steinberg and Jethro DeFries on drums, the brilliant Jerry Manfredi on bass and musical direction, and Tommy Mars on keyboards.

Their new single “(Made It) Another Day” is about living with mental illness, Bipolar and Mania in Gary Dranow’s case. The blues rock song has a sprinkling outlaw country representing the internal disorder one experiences when they live with heavy mental illness. The line “Like a Rat in a wheel” provides the perfect imagery to the never ending daily struggle to get your personal life in order while constantly feeling dissuaded.

It has a Stevie Ray Vaughn meets Chuck Berry and Johnny Cash style with the deliberate notes from the guitar and the sultry vocals.
